Cash (Viva Spot)

Introduction
Cash (Viva Spot) is a payment method offered by Viva Wallet, which allows your customers to pay via cash at one of over 2,000 locations known as ‘Viva Spots’.
- Flexibility: Gives customers the option to pay via physical cash if preferred
- Availability: There are a large - and growing - number of Viva Spot locations, all over Greece
User Experience
At the checkout, the customer selects Cash (Viva Spot) as their preferred payment method:
If needed, the customer is able to view all Viva Spot locations to find one near to them:
Once the customer reaches the Viva Spot location, the transaction proceeds as follows:
- The customer pays in cash, quoting their unique payment code
- The reseller enters the transaction details
- The reseller’s Viva Wallet account is then checked to ensure it has enough funds for the payment
- Once checked, the transaction is finalised and funds are sent to the merchant’s Viva Wallet account
Details
- Payment method type: Asynchronous - payments are not confirmed immediately, the confirmation of payment occurs when the customer pays at the Viva Spot location within the payment timeout (the default payment timeout is 30 minutes, but the merchant may indicate a longer timeout via the paymentTimeout parameter during the API call to create the payment order)
- Refunds: Not yet supported
- Recurring payments: Not yet supported
- Pre-authorizations: Not yet supported
- Restricted MCC: All Merchant Categories are eligible to have Cash (Viva Spot) enabled
- Μerchant countries: Available for merchants registered in Greece & Malta
- Customer countries: Available to customers in Greece only
- Pricing: Please refer to our pricing page under the main navigation for more information
- Settlement: All settlement takes place next day for successful transactions (i.e. have statusId = F)
- Cross-currency payments: Not yet supported
- Additional notes: Cash (Viva Spot) is not available through Quick Pay
How to enable Cash (Viva Spot)
Cash (Viva Spot) is enabled by default, meaning no extra setup is required from the merchant.
If desired, this payment method can be disabled by setting the disableCash
parameter to true
when creating a payment order
