How to activate POS devices.
Activation Process
Viva Wallet’s POS Devices can be broken down into three main categories:
- Android & iOS – the Viva Terminal App installed on Android or iOS devices such as the Viva Wallet Contactless Terminal powered by Google Play, Viva Wallet Contactless Terminal with Professional Scanner powered by Google Play & Viva Wallet Contactless / Chip & PIN Terminal powered by Google Play and mobile phones/tablets (‘Tap on Phone’)
- Paydroid – the Viva Terminal App installed on PAX devices such as the A910, A920, A80 & IM30 terminals
- Prolin – Linux-based devices such as the Q30 terminal
Android & iOS
Android & iOS devices can be activated in two ways:
By logging into your Viva Wallet account
On the device, choose option 1 (‘Activate with a Viva Wallet account’):
Enter the mobile number associated with your Viva Wallet account:
Enter the password associated with your Viva Wallet account:
You can then complete the setup of your device. Depending on the device, this may include connecting external devices such as card readers, activating MOTO functionality, activating QR code functionality and configuring device permissions
By using an activation code
On the device, choose option 2 (‘Activate with a code or app’):
Take a note of the code shown on your device:
Once you have generated the activation code, you can select one of the two following options:
Enter the code within your self-care account:
Log into your Viva Wallet self-care account and navigate to Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals:
Click on the ‘New Card Terminal’ button at the top-right of the screen:
You will need to enter the code from your device before clicking ‘Next’:
You will then be shown a message, telling you to ‘Finish setting up on your device’:
Simply confirm the prompt shown on your device to proceed:
You can then complete the setup of your device. Depending on the device, this may include connecting external devices such as card readers, activating MOTO functionality, activating QR code functionality and configuring device permissions
Enter the code within your Viva Wallet banking app:

Log into your Viva Wallet banking app and click on the Preferences tab at the bottom-right:
Click on the ‘Activate a Viva Wallet POS’ menu option:
You can then enter the code from your POS device before clicking ‘Activate device’:
If the code was entered correctly, you will be shown an activation prompt on your terminal device. Simply confirm the prompt shown on your device to proceed:
You can then complete the setup of your device. Depending on the device, this may include connecting external devices such as card readers, activating MOTO functionality, activating QR code functionality and configuring device permissions
Paydroid
Paydroid devices can be activated only by using an activation code:
- On the device, the Activation screen will display a ‘User Activation Code’ button. Click this and then take a note of the code shown on your device:
Once you have generated the activation code, you can select one of the two following options:
Enter the code within your self-care account:
Log into your Viva Wallet self-care account and navigate to Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals:
Click on the ‘New Card Terminal’ button at the top-right of the screen:
You will need to enter the code from your device before clicking ‘Next’:
You will then be shown a message, telling you to ‘Finish setting up on your device’:

You can then enter the code from your POS device before clicking ‘Activate device’:

You can then complete the setup of your device. Depending on the device, this may include connecting external devices such as card readers, activating MOTO functionality, activating QR code functionality and configuring device permissions
Prolin
Prolin devices can be activated only by using the device’s Serial Number:
- You will need to locate the Serial Number of the device. This can normally be found on the bottom of the device and starts with the letters ‘SN’
Once you have located the Serial Number, you can select one of the two following options:
Enter the code within your self-care account:
Log into your Viva Wallet self-care account and navigate to Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals:
Click on the ‘New Card Terminal’ button at the top-right of the screen:
You will need to enter the Serial Number of your POS device before clicking next and completing the remaining screens:
Enter the code within your Viva Wallet banking app:

Log into your Viva Wallet banking app and click on the Preferences tab at the bottom-right:
Click on the ‘Activate a Viva Wallet POS’ menu option:
You can then enter the Serial Number of your POS device before clicking ‘Activate device’:
Finally, you can complete the setup of your POS device
Managing Stores (Sources)
Terminals can be linked to ‘Stores’ (a type of Payment ‘Source’) in order to help organise your terminals across locations. Assigning each terminal to a Store can help you locate and filter transaction information on a per-location basis.

Activate a POS Device:

Please see our Source for stores page for instructions on how to create a Store. Please also note that if you have more than one wallet (account), you can choose which wallet the Store is linked toWithin your Viva Wallet self-care account, navigate to Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals:
You will see a list of your active terminals. Click on the Edit button for the terminal you wish to amend:
You can then use the Select Source dropdown to choose which Store you wish to assign to this terminal, before saving:
